While at Calvin, God gave Lauren the opportunity to student teach in a dual-language first grade classroom, which solidified her desire to teach in Spanish. After three years of teaching in Honduras, her and her husband wanted to return to West Michigan to be near family and found their next adventure in moving to Kalamazoo, MI to work with their new first grade Spanish Immersion. It made her smile when she realized she would teach the same curriculum from my year of student teaching in Spanish– God had truly prepared Lauren for this position! She has loved watching and helping the Spanish Immersion program– and students– grow over the past ten years. She also loves how the KCES community truly seeks to love God and love others in all that they do.
