Both of Heidis parents were educators and several members of her family are involved in education in some way, so you could maybe say teaching is in her blood. As a child the importance of a good education was stressed a lot. She grew up hanging around her dad’s classroom and watching him coach and she doesn’t remember a time when she didn’t want to be a teacher and coach. It gives her great joy to be able to have an impact on the lives of the students at Kalamazoo Christian and watch them grow as individuals. To be able to openly express her faith in the classroom and freely talk with her students about the love of Christ is what she appreciates the most about teaching at Kalamazoo Christian.
