Dirk Walhout holds a Certificate of School Management & Leadership from Harvard University, a Certificate of Nonprofit Executive Leadership from Indiana University, an M.Ed. from Grand Valley State University, & a BA from Calvin University.

Before coming to Kalamazoo Christian, Dirk served as a teacher & the Superintendent at Northern Michigan Christian School in McBain, MI.  He began his career at Eastern Christian Middle School (Wyckoff, N.J.) as a teacher.  Over the years, he has coached 41 seasons varsity baseball, soccer & softball.

Dirk's decision to serve at Kalamazoo Christian Schools is both deeply personal & rooted in conviction.  For at least five generations, Dirk's family has been committed to the mission of Christian education, & he considers it a privilege to help "tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord."

Dirk's philosophy is grounded in the truth that God is the author of all things—from the intricacies of science to the beauty of language—& that there is "not a square inch" of existence over which Christ does not claim ownership. He serves at Kalamazoo Christian Schools to ensure students are equipped for more than just the global marketplace & wants to see high schoolers grow into disciples who act as agents of renewal in a broken world. It is Dirk's goal to partner with you in raising children who understand their identity in Christ & who are prepared for every good work.
