Dirk Walhout
Principal, High School
Serving since 2018.
Dirk comes from a family of teachers. Some might say teaching is part of their DNA. Parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins–most of them teachers. After his first day of student-teaching in a high-school classroom, he knew he, too, wanted to follow the high calling and join the ranks of teaching. Upon graduating from Calvin University, Dirk left West Michigan and headed for the East Coast where he taught at Eastern Christian (New Jersey) for 2 years. Dirk returned to Michigan and served at Northern Michigan Christian (McBain) as a coach, teacher, and administrator for 23 years. In 2018, Dirk accepted the High-School Principal position at Kalamazoo Christian. He is grateful for the students, staff, & families in the KCS community as together they strive to fulfill the mission & vision of Kalamazoo Christian.
