Testing Services at KCHS

Kalamazoo Christian High School offers testing services for students throughout their high school years that can be beneficial to their future success. From their sophomore to senior year, KCHS students are encouraged to participate in the testing services provided by KCHS, that they qualify for, to ensure that they take every opportunity available to them.

  • All sophomores will take the PLAN test.  This test, produced by the same company that produces the ACT, provides students with benchmarks of how prepared they are for colleges, gives them a projected ACT score range, and includes a career interest inventory.
  • Juniors with a 3.5 GPA are invited to take the PSAT test, and any junior who wants to take the test is welcomed to sign up as well.  This test serves as the entrance exam for the National Merit Scholarship Competition, but otherwise has no bearing on college admissions.  Sophomores with a 3.5 GPA are invited to take this test for practice.
  • In March, all juniors will take the Michigan Merit Exam, which consists of three days of testing, including a full, college-reportable ACT test.
  • Juniors and Seniors can retake the ACT as many times as they desire to try to raise their score for college admission or scholarship purposes.
