Academic Support
Students who need extra support or extra challenge, work with our academic support teachers to receive systematic instruction focused on reading, math development, Spanish Immersion, science, social studies, study skills, or organizational skills depending on grade level.
During high school, students who have 504 or nonpublic service plans can join the academic support study hall.
The guidance center, located in the high school, is meant to provide a sanctuary to students in difficult or high-stress times. Crisis intervention and personal counseling are provided as well as referrals to private counseling services.
College Guidance
The guidance center, located in the high school, provides future planning assistance. Standardized testing services can be administered to assist students in evaluating their abilities and prepare for college or the workforce.
All 10th Graders will take the PLAN test, which provides them with benchmarks and projected ACT score range. It also includes a career interest inventory. 11th Graders (and 10th Graders with a 3.5> GPA) are invited to take the PSAT test which serves as the entrance exam for the National Merit Scholarship Competition. All 11th Graders will take the Michigan Merit Exam, which includes the ACT test.
