Kim holds a BA from Calvin College and a masters degree from Western Michigan University. She's taught at Kalamazoo Christian Schools her whole teaching career, almost 40 years. She started in 1st Grade at East Christian then moved to 5th Grade.

She has done mission work in Mombachito, Nicaragua. Kim attends The River Church in Kalamazoo, MI.

One of the highlights of her teaching career is leading Science Camp for 5th Grade. She loves having classroom pets and seeing students interacting with them each day. Even students who start out not liking reptiles soon have the snakes hanging around their necks.
