Matt holds a bachelors degree from Grand Valley State University in group social studies and secondary education and a masters degree from Cornerstone University in educational leadership.
He taught Bible and Social Studies in 8th grade at Kalamazoo Christian for 13 years. Throughout high school, college and during school breaks, he worked 15 years as a plant technician installing and maintaining copper and fiber plants for internet, TV and phone services. He also coached basketball, cross country and soccer.
Matt enjoys gardening, beekeeping and raising chickens with his wife and three daughters. They attend Zion Reformed Church in Grandville, MI. He has a passion for fishing, hunting, foraging and many other activities where I can enjoy the great outdoors with family and friends. He loves cheering on Michigan and Detroit sports teams.
Matt's love for history, current events and God's Word translates into his teaching. He has a deep passion for Christian education and partnering with families to raise our children to know and love Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and playing a role in preparing our students to serve Christ in the world.
