Kalamazoo Christian Schools nurture students academically, emotionally and spiritually so they possess the necessary knowledge and skills to be productive, Christian citizens of this world.

To Love

Because of our love for Christ and His love for us, Kalamazoo Christian Schools encourage students to see others and the world through His eyes.

To Serve

We broaden students’ experiences so they develop a heart for others and respond by serving in their spheres of influence with Christ-like compassion.

Vision

We envision that each KCS graduate will become a “disciple who transforms the world.”

We shape our students through offering ongoing opportunities for students and faculty to delve deeply into nine qualities of discipleship, called Faithlines, with the hope that these practices will develop into lifelong habits.

Faithlines

These nine Faithlines visually represent how we want to be disciples transforming the world. Each year, we chose a theme Faithline to study across all of our schools.

History

Christ-centered education since 1877.

“The first Kalamazoo Christian school was established in 1877 by the Walnut Street Church of Kalamazoo. By 1939, the first Christian high school was established.

Increased support for private Christian education within the Kalamazoo area led to the establishment of the North, South, and East Christian Elementary Schools as well as Kalamazoo Christian High School. By 1992, the Kalamazoo Christian School Association (KCSA) was formed, which linked all of these schools together to better serve the educational needs of parents wanting a Christian education for their children.

Over time, the smaller elementary schools were consolidated into one Elementary School on the 112-acre 12th Street Campus, and in 2013 a new Middle School facility was also constructed at the site.”

Ready To Get Started With
Kalamazoo Christian Schools?

At Kalamazoo Christian School, the foundation of all we do is the Bible–God’s Holy, inspired, unchanging, and inerrant Word. Our students receive a solid foundation in the development of a Biblical worldview.

Being God Glorifiers is recognizing and honoring God with our thoughts, words, and actions.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

1 Corinthians 10:31

Being Beauty Creators is using our God-given talents, reflecting. his beauty in all we think and do. Because we are image bearers of a creative God, we have the ability and longing to create.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

Colossians 3:23

Being Creation Carers we work to enjoy, protect and restore God’s creation.

“The Earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”

Psalm 24:1

Being Faith Nurturers is continuing to grow in God’s word daily through reading devotions, studying the Bible and engaging in fellowship with believers to deepen the roots of our faith.

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing in thankfulness.”

Colossians 2:6-7

Being Image Reflectors is valuing and respecting ourselves and others as we recognize that we are all made in the image of God.

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Ephesians 2:10

As Justice Seekers we develop a biblical understanding of our broken world and, by following Christ’s example, work to renew it.

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Micah 6:8

Our responsibility is to care for and wisely use all that God has placed under our earthly authority including our time, talents and our treasures.

“For Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

1 Peter 4:10

Being Kingdom Builders is using our head, heart and hands to build His kingdom. We know God’s word is true (head), therefore we love our neighbors (heart) and serve our communities (hands).

Being Truth Pursuers is grounding ourselves in the Word of God, allowing it to direct our world view and discern truth.

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding”

Proverbs 2:6
