While at Calvin University, God gave Lauren the opportunity to student teach in a dual-language first grade classroom, which solidified her desire to teach in Spanish. After three years of teaching in Honduras, her and her husband returned to West Michigan to be near family and found their next adventure in moving to Kalamazoo, MI to work with the Spanish Immersion program.
Lauren holds a BFA from Calvin University in elementary education with minors in Spanish and Fine Arts and a master's degree from the University of Minnesota in dual language immersion education.
She loves to be outside, hiking, gardening, being at the beach and doing photography. Her family attends Threads Church in Kalamazoo, MI.
She works at Kalamazoo Christian Schools for the Christian community. It has been a warm, welcoming, loving and supportive environment for her family. They love the Spanish Immersion program and are thankful for all of the ways that the Spanish Immersion teachers have cared for and expanded the minds of our children to love Spanish and love others while here.
