Kalamazoo Christian Schools have a long history of producing engaging and exciting theater productions. Plays, musicals and other theater events have long been a great way for our students to show off their dramatic skills while also bringing together members of our community.
While the action on the stage is certainly fascinating, there’s a lot more that happens behind the scenes, as well. Many students at Kalamazoo Christian choose to participate in costume design, set design, stage managing and directing. These activities give them a more comprehensive view of what makes a theater production possible and how each crew member plays a significant role.
In addition to putting on plays and musicals, KCHS also offers classes for students interested in theater. A one-semester course in drama offers students the opportunity to interact with others and perform. Meanwhile they learn about various aspects of performance, including improvisation and character development.
By engaging in theater, students are opened up to new worlds and ideas through a unique story. Productions at Kalamazoo Christian recognize that all of the human experience belongs to God. We strive to produce this story of human experience with truth, humanity and excellence.
